Diamond Demon Maiden Flight

Except for needing full up-trim on the glide, Rich's Demon flew straight off the building board. Steady as a rock with no vices.

Future adjustments will be a larger battery and a more rearward CG.

Comments from Rich

The Diamond Demon was a  1938 Bay Ridge kit designed by Jerry Stoloff.

Mine weighs 14.4 oz without the battery.  I have several sets of plans if any one wants one...

Andrew Tickle's 400 sq in Dallaire

This is bigger than the usual 1/2A sized Speed 400 plane. It is ballasted up to 22.2 oz to achieve the required 8.0 oz / sq ft wing loading.

Jay's Airborn started uncooperatively, and then Jay persuaded it to fly beautifully.

Chip's Airborn was his first Old Timer. He looked so pleased with it It that Bob Rose and Andrew Tickle rigorously inspected it for flaws to bring him down to earth.  Neither of them could find anything wrong. The plane also got the longest reported flight of the month (of May) of 10:27 right after its maiden flight at the May Warm Up! Congratulations to Chip!

Right

Don's Dallaire conversion with Kramer mount.
