Crash and Bash, 

Held in Elk Grove at the Schmidt Ranch

 

 

The Year of the Fokker DVIII  SAM Commemorative Model

The Fokker D-8 Squadron arranged for judging in the Crash & Bash Concourse D'Elegance on Saturday at lunch time at the Schmidt Ranch in Elk Grove, California.

Saturday was cold and windy but saw a virtual full slate of events flown by a large group of contestants from all over Northern (and Southern) California as well as Italy.(Hello Gabrielle!)

 

"floater"

 

   A Beautiful Chuck Hollinger design, Built and flown by SAM 27 member Richard "Dick" Irwin takes flight during the 31st Annual Crash & Bash . The design is called The "Floater" and is considered a forerunner of Holinger's "Nomad" design. It flew well with brushless outrunner power.
